AN INTERACTIVE INITIATIVE FOR WORKING AT HEIGHTS

MBA-Poster2On Friday, 19 February 2016, Master Builders NSW launched its Working at Heights Interactive Initiative. This initiative, supported by SafeWork NSW and developed by Pro-Visual Publishing, aims to assist young workers in identifying the risks involved while working at heights.

Falls from height in the building and construction industry amount to the largest portion of fatalities and major work-related injuries. In Australia, most fall fatalities occur from falls of only two to three metres in height.

Workers under the age of 25 make up 16 per cent of workers and account for 20 per cent of work-related injuries. In order to engage with young apprentices and workers, Master Builders has used the medium of Augmented Reality (AR) and designed the Working at Heights Interactive Initiative to convey the importance of due diligence when working at heights.

In order to experience this unique safety initiative, simply download your free copy of the MBA NSW AR Poster and follow the instructions to launch the relevant content, module or Code of Practice.

This MBA initiative features:

• A number of graphic falling from height scenarios.

• Informative videos.

• A 360-degree immersion experience on a building site.

The aim here is to make behavioural changes towards safety among young workers in the industry, to communicate in a way that they can relate to, in other words, via technology. This innovative means of education can be accessed through the MBA NSW Working at Heights Interactive Initiative.
