Webinar on Zero
I have been writing on the ideology of zero for many years but have never been asked to discuss or debate it with anyone in the safety sector, till now. The two books I have published against the ideology of zero include:

I have also been conducting the MiProfile Survey for 12 years and with over 60,000 participants with 60% of respondents rejecting the discourse of zero (https://www.humandymensions.com/services-and-programs/miprofile/).
The problem with zero is that it is much more than just a word or a number. Most of the proponents of zero state that it is a philosophy/ideology (https://oshwiki.eu/wiki/Zero_accident_vision). And this is where I run against the ideology of zero. I don’t come from a STEM background nor have I ever been anchored to safety as a lens for seeing the world. I have come out of working in four professions before I encountered the psychosis of zero.
Of course there is no evidence or demonstration of how zero works despite propaganda to the contrary (http://www.zeroaccidents.nl/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/TNO-publication-Sustainable-Safety-Visions-and-Perspectives-symposium-at….pdf). Now that the global mantra for safety is zero (http://visionzero.global/ ), the religious circle is complete, just believe! (https://safetyrisk.net/no-evidence-for-the-religion-of-zero/). How dare one critique the discourse of zero as a psychosis?
Well, in the 15 years I have been practicing risk and safety consulting and writing, I have never been asked to discuss or debate the problem of zero till now. Seems like the industry of compliance has one voice that’s open to debate.
