DEVELOPING RISK INTELLIGENCE

  • The way humans make judgments and decisions is fundamental to developing Risk Intelligence and tackling the challenges of risk in the workplace.
  • The way a culture develops and what it normalises determines how individuals frame their risk worldview and make decisions.
  • The Program gives attendees exposure to pioneering work in the social psychology of risk and skill development in Risk Intelligence.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The workshop will help you better understand the psychological and organisational factors that affect how
people perform their work, make decisions, and participate in safety processes.

By the conclusion of the program, you will:

  • Better understand the psychology of risk, goal setting, motivation and decision making.
  • Apply simple tools to surface psychological and organisational/cultural risks.
  • Understand the ‘hidden’ influences on risk/safety systems (perception, bias, heuristics, automaticity, bounded rationality, cognitive dissonance, obedience, Groupthink).
  • Understand collaborative strategies for engagement and tackling risk.
  • Understand framing, priming, anchoring, pitching and flooding and improve risk communication.
  • Better understand risk perception.
