This is our second Newsletter for 2018, and we again welcome new subscribers, many of who join us after purchasing Social Sensemaking.
In this edition we share news of upcoming programs, including two in Auckland New Zealand, along with our usual news items including blogs, articles, books, a theme of the month and news about Dolphyn’s work.
We also introduce one of our ‘community in practice‘ members Hayden Collins, who’s experience and skills around critical thinking and culture bolster our ability to work with organisations in better understanding their ‘collective unconscious’.

Meet the Local Author
On Thursday 24th May, Rob Sams has been invited to speak about Social Sensemaking at the library in the town where he grew up; Maitland (NSW). Rob will speak about the ‘learning adventure‘ that is explored in his book. Rob explains that being curious and willing to make mistakes along the way is important, as we can’t learn effectively without risk.

INTRODUCING HAYDEN COLLINS
This month we introduce one of our Community in Practice, Hayden Collins.
Hayden Collins is a specialist in risk, human judgement and decision making, organisational culture, leadership, communication and learning. Hayden provides training, advice, coaching and mentoring for leaders, managers, supervisors and workers.
CONTINUING OUR WORK WITH BLUESCOPE
We continue our work with BlueScope, piloting our Social Sensemaking program across sites in NSW and QLD. One of the keys to the success of this program is the upskilling of their internal team. BlueScope’s leading manager in the project, Stephanie O’Dwyer, who is now studying with the CLLR (see below), has co-facilitated many of the workshops. This provides a more holistic learning and change program for BlueScope. Stephanie recently started a session in Brisbane by asking; “what’s the riskiest thing you’ve done?”. The learning started from there.
