The SPoR Convention on Critical Thinking is only five weeks away. In this short video Dr Craig Ashhurst and Prof. Rob Long discuss their approaches to their workshops. You can watch the three and half minute video here:
The convention is structured in two parts and people can come for either part, or the whole five days. The dates for the convention are 15-19 September and Canberra in spring is beautiful at this time. Australia’s biggest celebration of Spring (Floriade) (https://floriadeaustralia.com/ ), is on at the same time and a trip after one of convention days (that conclude at 4pm each day) is possible. The best way to practice Critical Thinking is by Transdisciplinary thinking and doing.
The middle of the convention is a Semiotics Day where we visit unique places, learn by experience, dialogue and observation, and finish at one of Canberra’s classic wineries then later, share dinner that evening.
You can register online here: https://spor.com.au/spor-convention-2025/ or email admin@spor.com.au if you want to just come for a day or two.
Everyone who comes gets a chance to present about their current experiences in risk in short vignettes and these have always been a highlight of learning from others. About half of those registered have not attended before.
So, if you want to learn skills in Critical thinking, develop knowledge in SPoR and, enjoy different experiences in learning about risk, then this is for you.
