NCETA is an internationally-recognised research centre located at Flinders University that works as a catalyst for change in the alcohol and other drugs (AOD) field.
One of our key research areas is intervention programs and resources for workplaces and other organisations. You might already be aware of our WorkLife website which has free resources to help managers, supervisors and workers respond to alcohol and drug issues and to develop alcohol and drug policies: https://lnkd.in/dwbGdhgQ
Several interventions have been designed to reduce workers’ alcohol and drug use and associated harms. Field studies have shown mixed results from studies of varying quality, as summarized in a recent presentation: https://lnkd.in/gnS46hnk
NCETA are interested in finding out direct from industry what kinds of interventions they think would be most acceptable and feasible in their workplaces. We are particularly interested in hearing from health and safety professionals in Construction and Manufacturing, from small and large organisations.
To that end, we are conducting an interview-based study on ‘The Feasibility and Acceptability of AOD interventions in the workplace’. Interviews will be conducted online and take about 60 minutes.
If you would like to be part of the study, have any questions, and/or would like a copy of the participant information sheet explaining the project in more detail, please email Dr Kirrilly Thompson on Kirrilly.thompson@flinders.edu.au
